The large Preseli Bluestone disc has a 40cm diameter topped with a silver cockle shell carefully selected for its size and shape from our local coast where they are often washed up onto the sandy beach.
The Preseli Bluestone comes from the Preseli hills locally referred to as mountains - they are technically over 1000’! The Druids thought them so valuable they carried them 180 miles to create the inner horse shoe at ‘Stonehenge’ near Salisbury. They’re still not sure how they did it despite several re-enactments, which both failed. So the wondering continues.
